Background.

‘Wilsons’ and ‘Knight Frank’ were two separate businesses in the process of merging. They contacted 848 for advice on how to unify their IT systems. Now a successfully merged business, Wilsons Knight Frank is a residential agency based in St Helier. The company specialises in the local property market and is now recognised as a market leader in the international real estate industry.

The Challenge.

Wilsons was originally working with Google Workspace and Egnyte cloud file servers. Following the decision to progress with a merger, the client approached 848 to review the current IT infrastructure and business applications.

The business was seeking guidance on the integration and optimisation of their two separate systems in the best possible way. Wilsons noted that it wanted to keep its current CRM set up, and so 848 developed a solution that would comply.

The Solution.

848 worked with senior managers from Wilsons and project managers Knight Frank to establish the business’s objectives and any required changes. The team recommended migrating from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365. They suggested this as a more cost-effective and efficient approach than attempting to integrate the separate systems.

848 recommended Microsoft 365 as it would provide the business with a useful productivity suite of applications that would benefit them in day-to-day running of the evolved business. This included Outlook email (which integrated easily with the existing CRM) and Microsoft Teams. 848 also recommended migrating from Egnyte cloud file to hybrid Windows server using Azure backup services.

The Result.

The 848 team provided a seamless migration project with no downtime for the business. Wilsons Knight Frank now benefit from a single, centralised IT environment that unifies the two businesses to finally work as one.

Teams have enjoyed better internal communication and collaboration across Microsoft 365. The merger was successful and the new cloud platform has enabled the business to move forward to the next step on its journey. 848 have continued to support Wilsons Knight Frank with any technical assistance they may require via the 848 managed service desk.
