A Greek philosopher named Heraclitus once said: the only constant in life, is change.  

While we’re fairly certain IT services weren’t around in Ancient Greece, the words of our philosophical friend still apply. The only thing we know for sure, is that technology is always changing – the way it’s used and why – and it’s time for a big change here too. 

 

We’re not a technology business

You see we’ve been doing a lot of reflecting. When we started the 848 Group fifteen years ago, we thought we were an IT business. We sold tech, we fixed it, we built systems. 

But looking back, that’s not really who we are at all. 

848 is a people business. We’re a group of people, with knowledge, insights, and human experience to help employees work smarter, make better decisions, and reach their goals. Our services exist to support, connect, and empower teams – tech is just the tool. 

That’s why, in the next few months, the 848 Group you know will be gone. We’re reshaping our service model, partnerships, brand identity, and purpose to become a smarter, more human IT partner, built for people. 

Because technology doesn’t achieve anything meaningful by itself. 

 

More than a rebrand

While we admit a makeover is overdue, this is more than a new look. It’s a fresh perspective and major shake shift towards being a true IT partner with a mission built on people, continuous improvement, and strategic value. 

Behind the scenes, we’ve already made some big moves: restructuring the organisation and implementing new processes, feedback loops, and frameworks that give structure to the way we benchmark, measure, and deliver ongoing value. 

But we need your help to make sure every change is centred on what matters to real people.

 

You can shape the new 848

To prioritise people, we need to understand their priorities. That’s why we’re asking for feedback from all different users, from all different kinds of organisations to tell us what matters to them. Every response will be looked at and will directly guide the way we invest in and restructure our service model.

Why your input matters, and why we’re changing

  • To drive better outcomes for people – Every service we deliver should make things better, smarter, and easier for the end user. Your input helps us evolve based on experiences and insight from actual human beings. 
  • To design services that make sense – The latest solution isn’t always the right one. We want our service portfolio to be both future-ready and realistic for the organisations we work with. 
  • To deliver real value – Most MSPs talk about value and then only focus on meeting technical KPIs. That’s not adding value. We want to understand what would genuinely make a positive impact for your teams, not just fulfil an SLA.
  • To learn from the past – We know we haven’t always got it right. Your feedback helps us do better, and become a more reliable, and proactive IT partner.

Tech used to be the end result. Now it’s the catalyst for meaningful change, for real people.
