Important Update: Microsoft Intune Ending Support for Android Device Administrator on GMS Devices.
Microsoft has announced that support for Android device administrator management on devices with access to Google Mobile Services (GMS) will end on December 31, 2024. This change is in response to Google’s deprecation of Android device administrator functionality, as outlined in previous communications (MC726113/MC674247).
Impact on Your Business:
After the support ends, the following will occur on devices with GMS access:
- Users will no longer be able to enroll devices using Android device administrator.
- Microsoft will discontinue updates and fixes for Android device administrator management, including bug and security fixes.
- Microsoft technical support will no longer cover issues related to Android device administrator management.
