The news this week has been riddled with stories about Islamic State, particularly their attacks in Paris (and to a lesser extent, Lebanon). Our hearts go out to all those affected. A hot topic in the aftermath of these horrific events is whether the encrypted networks these terrorists used to communicate should continue to exist, or be changed so private content can be accessed. One such network, the encrypted ‘Telegraph’ app, has blocked 78 accounts being used to share propaganda. Although the app has said they will work on making it easier to report questionable content, they maintain that content transferred in private chats must stay encrypted. The balance between safety and privacy is an incredibly delicate one.

Facebook is making it easier to breakup.

Facebook is taking over our lives more and more these days- it’s essentially a forum where everyone you’ve ever known in your life can examine you, one status at a time. If you broke up with your partner 20 years ago, the only people who knew would be those you told. Now, anyone can check in on your relationship status, and you’re forced to examine every new update from your ex. So Facebook are releasing new privacy tools, designed to let you engineer your homepage. New updates from your old love won’t appear, and neither will reminders of your time together. You can even set it so they can’t see your updates, if you want to start dating again in privacy.

Windows 10 have released its first major update since the release in July. They’ve changed lots of things, both minor and major. For instance, you can now change the colour of your menus (I’m currently rocking a dark red), and on a bigger scale, you can use a Windows 7/8 product key to shortcut your way to the latest OS. You can check out more details about it here.

Weirdest tech story of the week:
Samsung are bringing back the flip phone
[/av_textblock]

[av_image src=’http://www.848.co/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/samsung-flip-phone.jpg’ attachment=’45298′ attachment_size=’full’ align=’center’ styling=” hover=” link=” target=” caption=” font_size=” appearance=” overlay_opacity=’0.4′ overlay_color=’#000000′ overlay_text_color=’#ffffff’ animation=’bottom-to-top’][/av_image]

Yes, you read that correctly: Samsung’s new device is going to be in a style unseen since 2006. Rumoured images have been leaked of the device, speculating it will have a curved rear shell, two screens, an Android Lollypop operating system, and a 16MP camera.

Samsung have yet to release any official statement on this, but we’re seriously hoping it’s true. Once again, we can reach chic levels of cool by hanging up on someone like this:
