What was the project?
Gunnercooke’s client-centric model encourages the lawyers to spend as much time as possible working with their customers, including spending time at each individual’s office and with the client’s teams. This kind of flexible working needed a flexible technology system that could keep up, and 848 was happy to provide.
The employees of Gunnercooke were so often out of the office that a demand was created for an internal system which could be accessed remotely. Partners needed to access and share documents at any time or place, something the current network was not able to perform. The system needed to be faster and more responsive. Due to the sensitive nature of the company’s data, the software also needed to be totally impenetrable.
848 deployed Microsoft Office 365 for office productivity, coupled with Microsoft SharePoint online for collaboration. The latter was customised for the firm to ensure confidentiality of all internal and external documents and communications. The changes 848 recommended enabled truly collaborative working for the first time at Gunnercooke. Users across the business could share and edit documents within the firewall- and without jeopardising private information.
The 848 Group migrated Gunnercooke’s data over the weekend so as not to disrupt day-to-day operations and ensure zero downtime during the working week. By selecting 848 and migrating to the cloud, Gunnercooke has reduced its IT overheads and avoided the cost of increasing the in-house IT team. With a new functional, accessible system, Gunnercooke’s partners can now collaborate with clients and access records in real-time- at the office, or on the move. As a result, client response time has decreased, and case numbers are on the up.
