848 love investing in people. We love seeing people walk in on day one and develop into vital pieces of the machine.

Watching our staff pulling every rabbit out of the hat and every card from the deck to get the job done is a testament to the effort we all put in and how much we all value each other.

It’s great to be able to share the success stories of our talented, hard-working team members. The amount of effort and determination they put into their work to achieve their goals deserves a soap-box moment every now and then!

So I’d like to tell you about a couple of members of our managed services team who have received some wonderful accolades recently.

These mythical beasts possess an unfathomable amount of knowledge and the proverbial badges of honour that decorate them are not the works of fantasy. They are the product of years and years of doing what they love and knowing the world of Microsoft like their own back garden!

The first recognition of achievement goes to our Service Desk Manager, Richard Jordan. He has been rewarded for his hard work by completing another Microsoft competency exam, Configuring Windows Devices (70-697). This exam focuses on the key functions of the following tasks:

  • Manage Identity
  • Plan Desktop and Device Deployment
  • Plan and Implement a Microsoft 365 Solution
  • Configure Networking
  • Configure Storage
  • Manage Data Access and Protection
  • Manage Remote Access
  • Manage Apps
  • Manage Updates and Recovery

This incredible achievement highlights Richard’s experience and knowledge of Windows 10, demonstrating his skills to lead our team of IT support technicians.  With this new recognition, Richard can offer the highest level of managed service support on the Microsoft solution stack, as well as provide sound, professional advice to our clients. He deserves a big congratulations and a great deal of thanks from everyone at 848.

Also due a great deal of appreciation and thanks is Tom Leighton, IT Support Engineer. Last month, he completed a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in IT User Skills, before completing a Microsoft competency of his own, Managing Office 365 Identities and Requirements (70-346).

The 70-346 competency exam is measured on the ability to complete the following technical tasks and their specific features:

  • Provision Office 365
  • Plan and implement networking and security in Office 365
  • Manage cloud identities
  • Implement and Manage Identities by Using Azure AD Connect
  • Implement and manage federated identities for single sign-on (SSO)
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Office 365 availability and usage

Tom’s knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office 365 strengthens his ability to support our managed service clients with their Microsoft cloud-based business productivity applications.

Armed with such invaluable skill and knowledge, it adds a whole new layer to the client experience when working with 848.

Not only can we start you on your journey to a new IT infrastructure, we can walk alongside you during the journey and offer a helping hand if issues arise on the way. Another reason to consider 848 when it comes to wanting the best for your IT infrastructure.

With such an incredible team driving the managed services that we provide, we can only continue aiming for the highest level.

In the near future, we look forward to Tom and Richard adding more accreditations to their ever-growing list of achievements.

This will offer even more impact to our services and our IT team can continue working as hard as ever to ensure we provide the same levels of quality our clients know us for.
