Are you ready for the next level? Microsoft has begun prompting Windows 7 and 8.1 users to upgrade their machines to Windows 10.

Microsoft has very recently announced its upcoming new OS, Windows 10, which is billed as being more efficient, more powerful, and best of all- free! Reservations for Windows 10 have been available for all Windows 7 and 8.1 users since early June, allowing users to automatically pre-load their sparkly new operating system to minimize install times. Not everyone will get their new operating systems through the upgrade program straight away – but the majority of reservees will be able to install Windows 10 as a free upgrade from the 29th July.

Windows 10 is estimated to be installed on a billion devices within the next three years alone – projected success being attributed to the seamless blending of the ‘best bits’ of both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. We’ve covered 10 things we’re really excited for in Windows 10 in one of our recent blog posts – and we’d love to hear what you’re most excited for in the comments section below. Our favourite at The 848 Group is the return of the start menu, and we’re excited to see how the new OS changes our favourite Microsoft apps, such as Office 365 and Dynamics CRM.
